Support Friends of Rogers & your favorite song bird…
…with a cup of coffee!
Friends of Rogers has switched switching coffee roasters to Caffe Ibis in early 2015. With this switch we are able to offer about 30 different varieties that are triple certified. A triple certification means they are certified organic through both Quality Assurance International (QAI) and USDA, Fair Trade certified and Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center (SMBC) certified shade grown. Each variety can be ordered in 12oz or 5 pound bags in either ground or whole bean. A win for birds, wildlife, diverse habitat, Friends of Rogers and you when you take your first morning sip.
Orders are due at the beginning of February, May, August, and November. If you can’t wait for your coffee, there are limited bags on sale in the Friends of Rogers Bookstore.
A SMBC certification means the coffee is certified to be 100% organic and shade grown under conditions that are ecologically sustainable for migratory birds and their habitat. The SMBC takes it one step further than just any normal shade grown conditions, they require a variety of native trees and vegetation around the plantation. With this diversity, each plantation provides habitat for many migrating song birds and provides the farmers with highly productive farms and a better tasting bean.
