Bird Cabin

Near the main parking area, Bird Cabin is open upon request. Inside sits the George Lesser Bird Collection. This collection of taxidermy birds was purchased by Rogers Center with help from the Mid-York Conservation Fund in 1968. It contains over 100 specimens from more than 60 species.

The Chenango Bird Club calls Bird Cabin their home. They have been meeting at Rogers Center since their founding in 1983. The Chenango Bird Club presents free monthly programs April-December that are open to the public. Call club President, Charlene LaFever, at (607)334-9112 for more information on activities.

Trout Ponds

The Rogers Center Trout Ponds are located to the left of the main parking lot. Observe and feed brook and rainbow trout, donated by the Aquaculture Center at Morrisville State College. There are two fish feeders located by the ponds that provide you with a handful of food for a quarter. You can purchase 16oz fish food containers in the bookstore for $2.16.
The food is for fish only, and it is important to never feed fish food, or any food to wildlife. This will cause sickness and increases their risk of injury from humans.

Weather Station

New York State has a network of weather stations to monitor and collect data. One is here at Rogers Center! Located on the Farm Tower parcel, it is collecting information in real time and sending it to the larger database. Check out our exact weather and see the most recent photo here.
