Whether you are an expert fisherman or new to the sport, you can come enjoy the rare opportunity to fish at Rogers Center! Join us for a day of catching (and releasing) fish in our waters. Staff will be on hand for those new to the game. We welcome Jim Everard from I FISH NY in Cortland, back to Rogers Center for the family fishing day. This is a great opportunity to  introduce children to the joys of fishing. Event is Free and open to the public. Donations are always welcome.

COVID-19 Protections: Families will be requested to bring their own fishing poles or use the DEC poles, which will be disinfected after use. Families will be socially distanced and required to wear masks when in close proximity to others. DEC and Friends of Rogers staff will have worms available and will assist with removing fish from the lines if needed. Bait will be provided and fishing poles are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Or bring your own bait and poles, whichever is preferred.

During the day, a silent auction will be held showcasing items Friends of Rogers received as donations from the public for our annual Spring Frolic, which was forced to be cancelled due to the pandemic. The public will be able to view the items but not touch them. Bidding is open to the public from 10 am -2 pm.
