Today many people are looking for ways they can give back and make a difference. One way is to participate in Community Science projects.
In 2023, Friends of Rogers is adding some Community Science initiatives to its offerings, starting with the City Nature Challenge at the end of April.
We are also starting a bumble bee project, known as The B-Team, which will inventory bumblebee populations in our region.
iNaturalist is a social network of naturalists, community scientists, and biologists built on the concept of mapping and sharing observations of biodiversity across the globe. Friends of Rogers has several projects listed on iNaturalist, including plants, birds, mammals, herps, and insects. All you need to do is go for a walk with your phone to participate.
