Friends of Rogers offers hands-on, science-based programming to school districts across the region. Our innovative approach to environmental education offers a unique opportunity for local educators to supplement traditional science curricula. Our educators have transformed the Rogers Center experience from just another field trip to a permanent outdoor classroom where teachers can reinforce science concepts taught in class with hands-on outdoor activities during site visits.
Our year-round offerings range from basic wildlife to in-depth ecology studies. Programs age-appropriate with respect to length and content and provide multi-faceted, experience-based field instruction. Friends of Rogers seeks to cultivate scientific literacy and strengthen connections to the natural world.
Reservations can be made year-round, and it is strongly encouraged that arrangements be made at least six weeks in advance. Email Marissa Nolan or call (607) 674-4733 for complete program details information or to schedule a visit. (Please inquire about any special accommodations at time of scheduling.)
The program fee is $3/student, with a special rate for three programs of $7/student. For classroom visits, an additional fee per trip to cover mileage is required. (These fees enable Friends of Rogers to continue offering School Field Trips; some financial assistance may be available.) One responsible adult is required to participate for every 15 students, and there is no program fee for chaperones.
