Forest Bathing with Linda Lombardo

Join certified forest therapy guide, Linda Lombardo of Wild Heart Nature Connection, on a walk at Rogers Environmental Education Center (you can add the exact location, if it’s not the visitor center) to reconnect with the natural world around us. We’ll slow down, wander and notice what most of the world simply walks past; the beauty of nature in any season. We’ll do some grounding, connect with all the life around us: trees, plants, wildlife (and water, where applicable), and even create some nature art together. These walks are always slow and easy-going, not a hike; not a tour of plants or collections. Every walk ends with a tea ceremony, using herbs and plants that are native to the area or featured at the location.

Walk length: 120 minutes; please wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and clothing for walking outdoors. Limited to 20 participants. Ages 18 and up.  Members $5; Not-yet-Members $10. Registration deadline Sept. 26, 4 PM. 607-674-4733.

Based on the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-Yoku, a wellness practice developed in the 1980s, each unique forest bathing walk inspires mindful connection with the natural elements of the land for a range of healthful benefits.
